Overview : New construction rural health clinic
Community Health Development, Inc. (CHDI) was founded in 1983 to increase access to primary healthcare services for the people of Uvalde, Real, Edwards, and Zavala Counties. This not-for-profit community health provider annually delivers high quality medical, dental, and behavioral health care services to over 12,000 individuals.
With this new branch clinic in Leakey, Zuber Construction brought high-quality, large scale construction to a more remote community. Residents now have access to state-of-the-art in-person care in a modern high tech medical and dental facility.
Structural steel framing allowed flexible room configurations, expansive window walls, and a gently sloping roof that mimicked the surrounding hillside.
Interior finishes like solid surface counters, wood doors, and commerical grade tile were constructed to last, but with warmer, more natural finishes.
At the exterior, locally quarried limestone is paired with cost-effective stucco. Breeze block from nearby D’Hanis lines the entrance, tying back to a regional history of construction that’s built to last.
